Dar Al-Handasah wins Suez Canal Corridor general plan

Dar Al-Handasah ِConsultants and its Egyptian subsidiary have won the bid for the Suez Canal Corridor project, said Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish on Tuesday in press conference held in Ismailia in attendance of Prime Minister Ibrahim Mehleb.

"The consortium received 86 percent in the evaluation, which was the highest out of any company," he added.

Yehia Zaky, the engineer representing Dar Al-Handasah, said the project is one of biggest projects his company has worked on, adding that it will be a significant milestone for them. He also expressed pride for working on the project.

The firm offers 250-300 proposals for major projects, he said, adding that they are ranked high among international consultants.

Founded in 1956, Dar Al-Handasah specializes in designing projects, running and supervising them.

The group has carried out multiple projects in the past, including Kuwait towers in 1974, Nile Tower hotel in 2000, the air force medical center in 2001, Cairo Airport's Terminal 3 in 2003, Marsa Alam resort in 2005, ‘AlTajamouat’ in 2008 and most recently, Hurghada and Sharm al-Sheikh international airports.
