The father of Mohamed Ali Sayyed Ismail (aka Darbaka), the young man shot dead by a policeman in Darb al-Ahmar last week, has called for retribution for his son on the same spot where he was killed.
He made the request during a meeting with Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar, who offered his condolences for the family's loss.
"I called on the interior minister to execute the low-ranking police officer in the street where he killed my son," said the father, Ali, after the meeting.
"I am happy and delighted with meeting Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar. The meeting calmed me down a bit," said Ali during a phone-in with LTC television channel on Monday evening.
"The interior minister [apologized] to me and said the meeting was a simple gesture of solidarity with me," Ali said.
