Interesting has risen in what this year’s date for the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday will be – and whether the government will keep the holiday as scheduled or postpone it to allow for a longer weekend.
According to astronomical calculations, the Prophet Muhammad’s birthday in the year 1448 AH falls on Wednesday, August 26, corresponding to the 12th of Rabi’ al-Awwal.
This is an official holiday for employees in the public and private sectors, as per government regulations.
It is customary for the government to announce the final dates of official holidays in an official statement before the event, either maintaining the original dates or postponing them, in accordance with the established policy for regulating official holidays.
If a decision is made to postpone the holiday to Thursday, employees whose weekend is Friday and Saturday will receive a three-day break.
