Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production, Sedqi Sobhi, met a US congress delegation on Sunday, led by Rep Dana Rora Packer, chair of the Subcommittee for Europe and the Emerging Threats of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US House of Representatives.
The officials discussed the latest developments in the region and international efforts to dry up the sources of terrorism, in the light of the strategic relations between Egypt and the United States.
During the meeting, attended by a number of armed forces commanders, Sobhi noted his pride in the strong ties between the armed forces of both countries over decades of military cooperation and training in order to confront the challenges which target the security and stability of the Middle East.
The delegation expressed appreciation of Egypt's efforts on both the domestic and external levels to fight terrorism and to achieve balance and stability in the Middle East, stressing the keenness of their country to strengthen partnership with Egypt on all levels to achieve the aspirations of Egyptian people.
