Disney’s latest animated film “Moana 2” achieved strong box office results in Egyptian theaters on Saturday, topping the foreign film charts with LE1,255,000.
Plot
The film’s story unfolds after Moana receives an unexpected call from her ancestors who have been guiding her journey. This new call leads her to embark on a voyage deep into the heart of Oceania, to long-lost oceans, for an adventure unlike any she’s ever faced before.
Cast
Reprising their roles from the first film, the cast includes Auliʻi Cravalho as Moana and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Maui. Rachel House returns as Grandma Tala, Temuera Morrison as Chief Tui, and Nicole Scherzinger as Sina.
Joining the cast are newcomers Huʻu Kalani Chang, David Fynn, and Rose Matafeo, who voice Moana’s new crew members: Mone, Kelli, and Loto, respectively.
New characters and behind-the-scenes talent
Ohmima Fraser lends her voice to the mysterious new character, Matangi.
Gerald Ramsey portrays Moana’s grandfather, Tautaia Fa’asa, while Khalisi Lambert Tsuda brings Moana’s beloved little sister, Sima, to life.
Behind the scenes, the film is directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller. Christina Chen and Yvette Merino serve as producers, with Jared Bush and Miller penning the screenplay.
The film’s musical score is composed by Grammy winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy-nominated composer Opetaia Foa’i, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
Executive producers include Jennifer Lee, Bush, and Dwayne Johnson.
