Abir al-Ansary, head of the Divorcees' Club, has said that society debases divorced women.
“I have personally suffered from this,” Ansary said.
The club is not only for women however.
“We organize recreational trips where parents who do not live with their children can see them and communicate with them,” she said.
Despite this, Ansary wants to focus on helping women overcome the stigma attached to their status. The club, as a result, helps divorcees and widows discover their potential and determine their choices.
