Chairman of the Dostor Party Hala Shokralla announced the end of her term following the party's internal referendum on regulations Friday. The party's upcoming elections will be held on May 8.
Shokralla added in a statement following the referendum at Cairo University, "Thus I have completed my term, done my job and handed over the party and the responsibility to its members."
"I express my deepest thanks and gratitude to the members of the Dostor Party over the success of the party members' general assembly today. We must pay tribute to the civilized appearance and responsibility of members while expressing their will, and I thank all members of the party for the short period we passed together," Shokralla mentioned.
She added a new chairman will be elected on May 8.
