Contrary to statements made by city officials in the Red Sea's Hurghada that the city has transformed into a global tourist city for the year 2016, a pond of stinky water is seen just a few meters from the largest bus station on al-Nasr Street.
Resident Ahmed Khaled said he cannot open the windows of his house due to the stinky smell. He added that the situation has remained the same for months, causing insects and flies to accumulate in the area.
The drainage, groundwater and garbage that has accumulated in a piece of land of over 2,000 square meters threatens public health and distorts the image of the city. The scene is the first thing tourists see once they get off the bus.
