A 4.6 magnitude earthquake hit Alexandria Thursday night, a shock that reached as far as lower Egypt and some areas of Cairo.
The National Seismic Network said the earthquake was recorded at 11:17 pm. Its epicenter was 10.3 km under the Mediterranean, or 170 km away from Borg al-Arab City, said Hatem Awda, the head of the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics.
No casualties or damages have been reported.
