Egypt announces latest protocol for hajj pilgrimages

The Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah announced the current measures for Egyptian haji tourism.

A member of the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Hisham Amin said that this year is a particular special season as the numbers of pilgrims have decreased 40 percent or nearly by one million people.

Amin added, during a telephone interview with the “Good Morning Egypt” program that pilgrims have to abide by health guidelines such as receiving two doses of the coronavirus vaccination or one dose of the Johnson vaccine,

They must obtain the certificate of vaccination, and have a health examination at a government hospitals to get a Hajj visa, he added.

A Ministry of Tourism mission will be present during the Hajj to follow up the needs if Egyptian pilgrims, he continued.

Those who applied for Hajj this year and have paid an underpayment but were not accepted can receive their money back at one of the branches of Banque Misr, said Amin.

EgyptAir announced the prices of Hajj tickets for the year 1443 Hijri (2022) which will start from LE16,990 on the Cairo-Jeddah round trip in  economy class.

Tickets will start from LE18,990 in business class.

EgyptAir added in a statement on Thursday, that the prices of Hajj tickets for the Cairo-Medina flights and return on Jeddah-Cairo flights or vice versa will start from LE17,990 for  economy class and LE19,990 for business class, excluding travel or return prices during special days.
