The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) released a comprehensive weather forecast for the capital and regional governorates, coinciding with the final days of the month of Amshir.
Temperatures in the capital are projected to reach a daytime high of 21C before plummeting to an overnight low of 11C.
Diurnal shifts and frost risks
Forecasts indicate that most regions will experience a temperate-to-warm climate during daylight hours.
However, this mildness is expected to dissipate rapidly after sunset, giving way to extreme cold across the country.
A specific “Frost Warning” has been issued for the agricultural heartlands of Central Sinai, where plummeting temperatures pose a risk to seasonal crops.
Visibility alerts: Dense fog and cloud cover
Authorities have cautioned motorists and commuters regarding dense water vapor (mist) beginning at four AM. Visibility is expected to be significantly reduced across:
- Greater Cairo and the Suez Canal Cities.
- Lower Egypt (the Northern Delta).
- Northern Upper Egypt and the Sinai Peninsula.
In certain low-lying areas, this mist may escalate into heavy fog. Additionally, low-level cloud formations are expected to move across the northern coastline toward the capital, while intermittent wind activity is forecast for South Sinai throughout the day.
