Egypt strongly condemned an Iranian attack targeting a power and water desalination plant in Kuwait.
This attack constitutes a direct assault on a vital civilian facility, it said, and is a blatant violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty.
Egypt warned this move presents a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the Gulf region and exacerbates regional tensions.
A statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Egypt’s full solidarity with Kuwait and its support for all measures taken to maintain its security and stability and protect its vital facilities.
Egypt also reiterated its categorical rejection of targeting civilian facilities and vital infrastructure, which poses a direct threat to the security of civilians and the stability of the region.
It called for an immediate cessation of all escalatory actions and for prioritizing diplomatic solutions to preserve the safety of the region.
