Egypt decides on date of January 25th holiday

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly issued a decree declaring Thursday, January 29, 2026, a paid public holiday instead of Sunday, January 25, 2026, in observance of the anniversary of the January 25th Revolution and Police Day.

The holiday applies to employees of ministries, government departments, public authorities, local government units, public sector companies, public business sector companies, and private sector companies.

A cabinet statement said that any scheduled examinations will proceed as planned by the relevant authorities.
