Egypt’s national football team managed to beat Angola 1-0 in a close match Wednesday evening in the African qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup.
The Pharaohs team owes its victory to striker Mohamed Magdy Afsha, who scored the only goal in an early penalty kick in the fifth minute of the match, which took place at the Air Defense Stadium in Cairo.
The Egyptian team won the three points from the match and now ranks second in Group G, behind the Libyan team, which defeated its Gabonese counterpart 2-1.
The Pharaohs team will play Gabon on Sunday, at the Stade de Franceville, as part of the second round of the African continent’s qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, scheduled in Qatar.
