The Egyptian authorities agreed to open the Rafah crossing during the Islamic holiday of Bairam that starts on Monday and ends on Thursday.
A source said the decision was taken in order to receive the wounded Palestinians in hospitals and allow the entry of aid into the Gaza Strip.
