Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly met with Communications Minister Amr Talaat to review developments regarding Egypt’s national strategy for Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The Prime Minister stressed the close role of the communications and information technology sector in advancing all other sectors and helping achieve sustainable development in Egypt.
The Minister of Communications reviewed several efforts made to advance the promising technology sector in Egypt, noting that the Ministry of Communications is keen to develop strategies and visions in line with national goals.
Talaat confirmed that the first phase of the “National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence” is nearing completion.
The second phase of the strategy is being prepared to adapt it to the rapid developments in communications and information technology, he said.
He explained that this stage aims to improve the “National Artificial Intelligence” index by implementing a set of initiatives across six pivotal pillars: governance, enabling environment, information infrastructure, data, human resources, and technology.
The minister pointed out that, as part of his ministry’s keenness to exchange international experiences, memorandums of understanding were signed in December with 30 international and local companies to build the digital capabilities of youth enrolled in Egypt’s Digital Generations initiatives.
