The Minister of Military Production Mohamed Mostafa met with the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Green Tech Egypt, Robert Falk – a member of the Renergy Group Partners alliance – and the Executive Director of the company Islam Ramadan at the headquarters of the Ministry of Military Production in the New Administrative Capital.
According to the minister, the aim of the meeting is to follow up on the executive position of a project to establish the first station in Egypt to treat municipal solid waste and convert it into electrical energy, located in the Abu Rawash area in Giza Governorate.
This project aims to convert waste with a capacity of 1,200 tons/day to produce electricity at 30 megawatts/hour through the “Renergy Group Partners” alliance consisting of the Military Production ministry, Green Tech Egypt and the OK Holding Company, Mostafa explained.
The minister assured that this project will have a significant positive impact on citizens and the national economy.
He also expressed his desire to carefully follow up on the implementation of the project by the coalition under the established schedule.
Continuous coordination is in place between the ministry and the various other ministries and agencies concerned with implementing the project, the minister said.
Falk on his end reviewed the executive position on the procedures for starting the implementation of the waste-to-electricity conversion station project.
He hailed Egypt’s efforts to expand its projects to diversify energy sources, especially clean and renewable ones, and to integrate the private sector and enhance its role in the waste management system in order to improve Egypt’s standards of living and strengthen its climate security.
Falk also expressed his appreciation towards the efforts made by all partners implementing the project.
