The Egyptian Qatari Business Council is awaiting confirmation on reconciliation between Cairo and Doha said Muharram Helal, head of the Egyptian side at the Egyptian-Qatari Business Council. The council hopes to resume its activities and to maximize joint investments between the two countries in the public and private sector, he added.
There are indications of a serious reconciliation between the two countries, and that the council is arranging a consultative meeting involving both the Egyptian and Qatari sides next January in Cairo, Helal mentioned.
Qatar will be invited to participate in the economic summit in Sharm el-Sheikh, scheduled next March, said Helal.
There is mutual desire to develop relations from both sides of the council, and there will be reciprocal visits at all levels in the coming period that would positively affect investments, said Vice Chairman of the Council Ahmed Abu Hashima.
President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Qatar, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed Al Thani told Al-Masry Al-Youm on the sidelines of the Arab investors conference last November in Cairo that the Egyptian and Qatari sides agreed to hold a joint meeting in Cairo in the first quarter of 2015 over the revival of the joint business council.
