Egypt is readying to intensify preparations in order to receive and aid Palestinians injured by the brutal war on Gaza.
It stressed that the “two-state solution” and the establishment of a Palestinian state are the only way to guarantee an end to the vicious cycle of violence within Gaza.
Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty said that the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza is only the first step that must lead to a credible political process for the establishment of a Palestinian state on all Palestinian territories occupied since June 1967 with East Jerusalem as its capital.
To prevent the horrors of the Gaza war from occurring again, the Foreign Minister stressed that the solution must be done through a sustainable establishment of the Palestinian state, in addition to opening various crossing between Israel and Gaza in order to allow more humanitarian and medical aid to flow into the strip.
During a joint press conference with his Nigerian counterpart on Saturday, Abdelatty added that without a sincere process leading to a permanent solution based on the principle of the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state, there is no guarantee that the cycle of violence will not be repeat.
Officials including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Health, Khaled Abdel-Ghaffar, Minister of Social Solidarity, Maya Morsi, and others visited the North Sinai Governorate on Saturday to ensure the readiness of hospitals and medical facilities in the city of Arish and neighboring cities.
They also inspected the preparations of the Egyptian Red Crescent and its logistical warehouses to review medical equipment in all health facilities, when the Rafah crossing is opened, and to provide the best health care to our Palestinian brothers.
Israel meanwhile continued to storm villages and towns in Gaza’s city of Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate on Saturday.
Security sources said that Israeli forces had arrested a woman while the storming Dura town, south of Hebron, and also detained several men before releasing them.
