Egypt’s National Postal Authority issued a commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of Egypt’s participation in the Tokyo Olympics.
With 134 athlete’s Egypt has more representation at the Tokyo Games than it ever has in history, which prompted the authority to release the stamp, in order to document this special sporting event, authority Chairman Sherif Farouk said.
Farouk added that the authority is always keen to document important events and occasions by issuing stamps and commemorative cards.
The new stamps are 4.5 cm, counterfeit-proof, and are on sale for LE5.
The stamps also contains a QR code that allows their owners to get instant information on their importance in an innovative way.
