Egypt’s mobile operators agrees to participate in new NCIE

The three mobile operators (Telecom Egypt, Vodafone Egypt, and Mobinil) have initially agreed to participate in the new national communication infrastructure entity (NCIE) with an 11.5 percent stake each, subject to board approvals, the newspaper Al-Alam Al-Youm reports.

Other shareholders will include the Defense Ministry with a 30 percent stake, the ministries of transportation and electricity with 10 percent each, the ministries of finance and communications with 5 percent each, and Telecom Egypt with 5.5 percent.
