Egypt sells LE5.5 bn in treasury bills

Egypt's central bank (CBE) sold LE5.5 billion in domestic treasury bills on Tuesday, the Ministry of Finance said. 

CBE sold  18 month zero coupon bonds worth LE1.5billion at an average yield of 11.525percent , 3-year Treasury bonds worth LE2.5billion at an average yield of 12.155percent , and 7-year Treasury bonds worth LE1.5billion at an average yield of 13.017percent.

Treasury bills and bonds are currently the main funding mechanism for both paying off the government's debt and financing new projects.
