The Supply Ministry announced Monday that Egypt’s strategic reserves of sugar are enough until February 2024.
In a statement, the Ministry said that, following directives by the political leadership to secure big reserves of sugar, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) had signed contracts to purchase 150,000 tons of raw sugar from Brazil.
The shipments from Brazil are expected in September and October 2023, the statement noted.
