Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports on Thursday evening announced its support for Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 World Cup.
The Saudi Football Federation announced on Wednesday evening that it seeks to submit a bid to host the 2034 World Cup, according to a comprehensive plan through which the Federation aims to harness its capabilities to provide an unprecedented experience for all football fans.
Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports and Head of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers, Ashraf Sobhi, expressed his sincere wishes of success to Saudi Arabia in its bid and noted the strong ties between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Federation’s announcement came after the International Federation of Football (FIFA) allowed countries in the continents of Asia and Oceania to submit their bids to host the 2034 World Cup.
FIFA on Thursday announced that Morocco, Spain and Portugal won a bid to organize the 2030 World Cup, with three of the tournament’s matches being held in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the first edition of the World Cup, “Uruguay 1930.”
