The Egyptian Meteorological Authority has predicted unstable weather for Egypt from Friday, April 24 — the first day of Ramadan — to Sunday, April 26.
The authority predicted unstable weather on Friday, with active southwestern winds nationwide. The winds will be accompanied by dust and sand in open areas, and storm conditions in various areas of the northern coasts, northern Upper Egypt, and Sinai, with wind speeds reaching up to 70 km per hour.
The weather will affect visibility on roads and will disrupt maritime navigation in the Red and Mediterranean seas, the Gulf of Suez and the Gulf of Aqaba.
A noticeable rise in temperatures is expected in most parts of the country, with very hot weather during the daylight hours.
Mild rain will fall on the northern coasts, Lower Egypt, and the cities of the Suez Canal. Thunderstorms are expected in Sinai.
Starting Saturday, a noticeable decrease in temperatures — between 9C and 10C — is expected across most parts of the country. Light to medium rain is predicted for the northern coasts, Lower Egypt, the cities of the Suez Canal and Sinai.
For Greater Cairo, active south-western winds are expected on Friday, accompanied by dust in open areas.
Wind speed is expected to range from 50 to 60 km per hour, which will affect visibility on the roads. A noticeable rise in temperatures is expected in most parts of the country, with very hot weather prevailing during the daylight hours. Rains may fall at the end of the day.
The authority added that starting Saturday, temperatures will decrease significantly — between 9C and 10C. Light rain may fall.
On Friday, high temperatures predicted are 36C in Cairo and Lower Egypt, 27C on the Northwestern Coast, 37C on the Northeastern Coast, 35C in South Sinai, 38C in north Upper Egypt and 40C in south Upper Egypt.
On Saturday, maximum temperatures predicted are 25C in Cairo and Lower Egypt, 22C on the Northwestern Coast, 22C on the Northeastern Coast, 29C in South Sinai, 27C in north Upper Egypt and 33C in south Upper Egypt.
