Russian exports of wheat to Egypt reached around 4.9 million tons between July 2015 to February 2016, according to Russian Agriculture Ministry.
According to the ministry’s estimates reported by Sputnik, Egypt tops the list of Russian wheat importers during the current agricultural season, which started from July 2015 and will end on June 30, 2016.
Ministry experts expected that Russian wheat exports to Egypt would reach between 5.5 to six million tons during the current season.
As per the ministry’s plan, Russian grain exports to international markets should total 31 million tons, with 23.6 million tons of wheat, between July 2015 to June 2016.
Middle East and North Africa countries, with Egypt on the top, are the main importers of Russian wheat.
