The Foreign Ministry called in a statement Thursday on Egyptian truck drivers who cross into Libya through Salloum Crossing to not to go further than Tubruq city in any way due to the tough security situation.
The ministry warned that drivers who would violate instructions would full bear the consequences of their actions.
Assistant Foreign Minister Ali al-Asheiry warned Egyptians against traveling to Libya in the meantime and called on Egyptian expatriates in Libya to be extremely cautious and avoid areas of conflict.
The government has recently evacuated thousands of Egyptians from Libya in coordination with the Tunisian government after they fled clashes between armed militias.
Several Egyptians were killed and displaced since Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi was toppled and killed in 2011. Egyptian churches in Libya have also witnessed several attacks that claimed the lives of a number of Egyptians.
