EgyptAir launched its first direct flights from Cairo to Chicago, marking a significant expansion in the US market and strengthening its presence on the international route network.
The Cairo-Chicago route is the second direct US destination launched by EgyptAir in 2026, following the launch of flights to Los Angeles.
This is part of the company’s strategy to enhance air connectivity between Egypt and key global markets and meet the growing demand for travel between both countries.
The Chairman of EgyptAir Holding Company, Ahmed Adel, affirmed that the Cairo-Chicago route is a strategic milestone within EgyptAir’s 2026 growth and development plan.
He emphasized that it reinforces the company’s position as a national carrier supporting the state’s efforts to revitalize travel and tourism and connect Egypt with various global markets.
Adel confirmed that the addition of this new destination brings the company’s total number of points in the US to five, while the total number of destinations in North America reaches six with the addition of Toronto, Canada.
Further confidence
He noted that this reflects confidence in EgyptAir’s services and its ability to compete in international markets.
Adel added that the company’s flights to both Chicago and Los Angeles will be operated by the A350-900 aircraft, the latest model to join the EgyptAir fleet.
This aircraft features advanced operational efficiency and modern technologies that contribute to enhancing the travel experience on long-haul flights, he said, as part of the company’s ongoing plan to modernize its fleet and support its sustainability and operational efficiency goals.
Three weekly flights
The Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines, Mohamed Alian, said that the company is scheduled to operate three weekly flights to Chicago on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
The launch of this new route complements EgyptAir’s successful launch of flights to Los Angeles, which also operates three weekly flights, Alian added.
These routes are expected to be very popular and will contribute directly to supporting trade and cultural cooperation.
It will also boost travel and tourism between both countries and strengthening their role as a vital hub connecting Africa, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Alian said that these routes are expected to witness great demand and will contribute directly and effectively to supporting trade and cultural cooperation, as well as stimulating travel and tourism between the two countries and enhancing its role as a vital hub linking Africa, the Middle East and the Americas.
