A Cameroonian passenger unexpectedly went into labor during a flight from Egypt to Cameroon, aboard an EgyptAir flight from Cairo International Airport to Douala International Airport in Cameroon. The passenger was unable to wait until landing at Douala International Airport and gave birth during the flight.
According to informed sources, the EgyptAir plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Kufra International Airport (southern Libya).
The Libyan authorities in the city, along with a team from the women’s and maternity hospital,emergency medical services, and doctors from Kufra Hospital, prepared to receive the emergency childbirth on board the EgyptAir plane.
The delivery took place inside the plane, and the mother and child were then transferred to the women’s and maternity hospital for follow-up care.
The sources indicated that EgyptAir flight number 887/737-800 completed its journey to Douala Airport in Cameroon after ensuring the health of the mother and child and receiving the necessary medical care after being transferred to the hospital in the Libyan city of Kufra.
