Egyptian Acting Syndicate lifts ban on Haifa Wehbe

The Syndicate of Acting Professions, headed by Ashraf Zaki, issued a statement announcing the lifting of the ban on Lebanese singer and actress Haifa Wehbe.

This came following the resolution of the dispute she had with the  ‘Reemas’ company and a friendly withdrawal of the complaint it filed against her.

In an official statement to the Syndicate of Musical Professions, the acting syndicate wrote: “Within the framework of the fruitful and constructive cooperation between your esteemed syndicate and the Syndicate of Acting Professions, and in reference to our letter dated 11/8/2024 regarding not granting the artist Haifa Wehbe any permits until she fulfills her obligations towards one of the production companies, we would like to inform you that we have received a letter from the company dated 14/8/2024 stating that they have reconciled and amicably withdrawn the complaint filed against the artist Haifa Wehbe.”

“Therefore, we would like to inform you that the subject of the complaint has been closed and the suspension has been lifted on our part,” it added.

The managing director of Reemas for Artistic Production Mamdouh al-Wardani announced the new developments regarding the complaint filed by the company to the Syndicate of Acting Professions.

Producer Isaac Ibrahim also confirmed that there are no disagreements with Haifa Wehbe, as they have a relationship of respect for years, with yet more cooperation in the near future.

The Musicians Syndicate in Egypt announced the suspension of work permits for Lebanese singer Haifa Wehbe, and the suspension of all her concerts until she appears for investigation by the legal affairs at the union.

Syndicate spokesperson Mohamed Abdullah said that Wehbe had recently contracted with an artistic production company and then breached its terms.

A complaint was then filed against her by the syndicate, which issued its decision requiring her to abide by the contract with the production company, he explained.
