Egyptian ambassador to Germany Bader Abdel-Ati announced that Berlin has lifted a ban on travel for German tourists to the Red Sea resort city of Taba in South Sinai, Egypt.
Abdel-Ati explained that the German Foreign Ministry introduced several amendments to German tourist travel instructions to Egypt on Friday, which include lifting the ban imposed since 2014 on travel to Taba.
He stressed that the amendments would increase flow of German tourism to South Sinai, especially after the success of the Egyptian Embassy in Berlin in managing and increasing the number of direct charter flights from German cities to Sharm el-Sheikh.
Abdel-Ati said that this positive shift in German travel guidelines reflects a climate security and stability in Egypt.
