Egyptian army air-drops 12 loads of aid into Gaza within three days

The Egyptian army announced on Wednesday that it has carried out new humanitarian aid air-drop operations over the Gaza Strip, having completed 12 airdrops across the past three days.

The military spokesperson said in a statement that “President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, President of the Republic and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, has directed the continuation of efforts to help the people of the Gaza Strip cope with the tragic conditions amid a severe shortage of all humanitarian needs.”

The spokesperson noted that 12 military transport aircraft took off over the past three days, loaded with large quantities of food aid to carry out air-drops over areas in the Gaza Strip that are difficult to access by land.

He clarified that this action is taking place concurrently with ongoing Egyptian efforts to ensure the flow of aid trucks into the Strip by land.

He emphasized that Egypt’s supportive role for the Palestinian cause and for the Palestinian people will continue, helping them overcome their current humanitarian crisis.

The Egyptian Armed Forces on Sunday announced it had carried out a humanitarian aid air-drop over areas in the Gaza Strip that are difficult to access by land, using nine military transport aircraft loaded with dozens of tons of food aid.
