Egyptian Democratic Party declares solidarity with lawyers against police violations

The Egyptian Democratic Party has declared solidarity with the strike called for by the Lawyers' Syndicate against police violations committed against lawyers, calling the assault on lawyer Emad Fahmy at the Faraskour Police Station a “flagrant violation of the law that should not be repeated.”

“This brings us back to the practices of the police before the January revolution and their violations of international charters,” said Ossama Bassit of the party.

Meanwhile, in Daqahlia, lawyers went on strike, halting all proceedings at the Belqas, Talkha, Agga and Mit Ghamr courts, while the lawyers of the courts of urgent matters did not go on strike.
