Egyptian Meteorological Authority warns of cold weather and rain on Thursday

The Egyptian General Authority for Meteorology warns of the return of cold weather and rain coinciding with the Coptic month of Barmouda, which begins on April 9 and ends on May 8.

Rain is expected to fall on the northern coasts, Lower Egypt, North Sinai, and the Suez Canal cities, reaching Greater Cairo as light showers at intermittent intervals.

Thursday’s weather will see a decrease in temperatures of up to five degrees Celsius, leading to moderate weather during the day and mild to cool conditions at night across all parts of the country.

Weather maps warn of maritime navigation disruption on the Mediterranean Sea, with waves rising to 3.5 meters above sea level and wind speeds reaching 60 kilometers per hour.

The Meteorological Authority also warned of active winds stirring up sand and dust in the south of the country.

It advised those with respiratory and sinus allergies to wear masks when leaving home. They also emphasized staying away from and not standing under billboards, trees, poles, and dilapidated rooftops.
