Egyptian MP suffers sudden heart attack inside Parliament

Egyptian MP Soheir al-Qady, representing Sharqiya Governorate, suffered a sudden heart attack on Sunday while inside the Parliament building.

Parliamentary sources said that the MP was immediately given first aid by the parliamentary medical team before being transported by ambulance to a major hospital in Cairo for further treatment.

The sources confirmed that the MP’s condition is currently stable and under medical observation, RT reported on Sunday.

Qady is a member of the Egyptian House of Representatives, representing Sharqia Governorate on the East Delta list.

She is known for her parliamentary activism in the areas of public services and local development, and is one of the most active female figures in the current parliamentary session.

This incident comes amidst the significant pressures faced by MPs during parliamentary sessions and committee meetings, particularly given the intensive legislative agenda.
