Three pilgrims, including two Egyptians, were killed while 40 others were injured in a traffic accident.
The incident involved a bus they were traveling in in the Saudi city of Mecca, according to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
The Foreign Ministry is following up on the state of the injured Egyptians in the accident that occurred on the Jamoum-Mecca road, carrying 50 Egyptian pilgrims on their way to perform Umrah, the ministry said in a statement.
Khairat a speaker for the Egyptian consulate added that the consulate continues to provide all assistance to the injured and their families through an emergency operations room at the Umrah mission’s headquarters.
