Egyptian Red Crescent delivers over 6,000 tons of medical, food, and winter essentials to Gaza

In the early hours of Thursday morning, the Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) launched its 127th Zad Al-Izza (Provisions of Dignity) convoy, dispatching a fleet of trucks carrying urgent humanitarian aid toward the Gaza Strip. The mission is part of the ERC’s ongoing mandate as Egypt’s national mechanism for coordinating and delivering cross-border relief.

On its 127th day of operations, the Zad Al-Izza convoy transported more than 6,185 tons of comprehensive humanitarian aid.

The shipment delivered over 6,000 tons of vital supplies, consisting of 3,250 tons of food staples and flour, 1,540 tons of medical and relief equipment, and 70 tons of infant formula. Additionally, the convoy provided nearly 1,325 tons of petroleum products to sustain essential services and infrastructure within the Strip

Addressing the severe challenges of the winter season, the ERC significantly increased its supply of cold-weather essentials. This deployment included over 5,960 winter garments, more than 17,680 blankets, and approximately 4,090 tents to provide shelter for displaced families.

The Zad Al-Izza: From Egypt to Gaza initiative was originally inaugurated by the Egyptian Red Crescent on July 27, 2025. Since its inception, the campaign has delivered thousands of tons of aid, ranging from food supply chains and medication to personal care items and fuel.

The Egyptian Red Crescent has maintained a constant presence at the border since the onset of the crisis, serving as the primary logistics hub for aid mobilization. Egyptian authorities emphasized that the Rafah crossing has remained open on the Egyptian side throughout the crisis.

Supported by a dedicated network of 65,000 volunteers, the ERC continues to operate at full capacity across its logistical centers, facilitating the entry of more than half a million tons of humanitarian and relief aid to date.
