Egyptian school authorities warn parents to keep 18+ energy drinks away from children

Educational administrations in Cairo warned schools against the sale of energy drinks to students under the age of 18, notably primary and middle school students.

A large number of Abdeen Administration Schools’ students reportedly drink energy drinks with the brand name Sting bought from outside the school.

This energy drink has a warning that it is forbidden under the age of 18, yet this isn’t enough to defer students from drinking it. The risk comes from increasing heart rate, leading to kidney failure, excessive activity and sudden death.

The administration urged parents to follow up on their children in schools, and the school administration should inform their parents to follow up their children outside schools, and constantly warn them not to buy anything harmful, especially the primary and preparatory stages.
