Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ahmed Fathallah will meet Sunday with several European ambassadors to Egypt at the ministry's Cairo headquarters to discuss recent complaints by Egyptian citizens of poor treatment received at the hands of embassy employees.
According to an official source, the purpose of the scheduled meeting is to ensure that all Egyptian citizens dealing with the embassies in question–whether to apply for travel visas or for other reasons–are treated with due respect.
On Wednesday, Fathallah met with Poland's assistant foreign minister for Middle East Affairs to discuss means of advancing bilateral relations between the two countries, along with the latest developments in the region, the recent launch of direct talks between Israel and the Palestinian Authority, and the renewed construction of Jewish-only settlements by Israel on occupied Palestinian land.
