Egypt’s Ahly may miss the chance to contract Hutter

Media reports revealed that Austrian Adi Hutter, a potential candidate to train Egypt’s Al-Ahly, is approaching to lead the German RB Leipzig team.

Ahly club headed by Mahmoud al-Khatib is looking for a foreign coach to take charge of the team in the new season.

Ahly sacked its Portuguese coach, Ricardo Soares, only 62 days after taking charge, due to the poor results of the team.

Some reports recently echoed the names of several candidates, the most prominent of whom was Hütter.

And according to the German newspaper Bild, it confirmed that Hutter is the most prominent to lead the Leipzig team, in the event of the dismissal of the team’s coach, Domenico Tedesco.

The German newspaper reported information that might threaten Ahly’s chances of contracting Hutter, as he wanted to rest until the World Cup in Qatar, although his career with Borussia Monchengladbach last season was not successful.

Ahly announced, on Wednesday, the dismissal of the team’s coach, Soares, after poor results and the loss of the League and Cup titles against traditional rivals Zamalek.

Ahly issued an official statement through its accounts on social media, announcing the amicable termination of the contract with Soares, thanking the Portuguese coach and his assistant staff.

Soares led Ahly in 17 games, winning 9, losing 3, drawing 5, and his players scored 22 goals.

Ahly finished the Egyptian League competition for the 2022/2021 season, under the leadership of Soares, in third place, with 70 points, 7 points behind Zamalek.

Ahly hasn’t come in the third place in the league competition over the past 30 years, as it has always won the top title or runner-up.
