Egypt’s Coptic Pope returns to Cairo after one-month visit to the US

Reverend Boulis Halim, spokesman for Egypt’s Coptic Orthodox Church, said on Saturday that Coptic Pope Tawadros II of the Church of Alexandria and his accompanying delegation have returned to Cairo following their one-month long visit to the United States.

In a statement Halim said that during his trip to the United States Pope Tawadros II inaugurated 14 churches in New York, New England, New Jersey and south of the US, also ordaining four priests and 11 arch-priests and laying the foundation for four more churches.

Tawadros II also inaugurated some service projects and met with the bishops of America and Canada, alongside priests and monks in the churches he visited.

He also held a meeting with 8,000 Copts at the Rutgers Stadium in New Jersey.
