Egyptian Court of Cassation rejected on Monday the appeal submitted by TikTok influencer Mawaddah al-Adham against her six-year prison sentence and LE 100,000 fine in a human trafficking case.
The Cairo Criminal Court sentenced Adhm in June 20, 2021 to six years in prison over human trafficking among other crimes.
The defendant appealed the ruling.
The Public Prosecution’s accusations against Adham included charges of attacking the values and principles of the Egyptian society, participating with others in luring girls and exploiting them via live broadcast, committing human trafficking, and receiving bank transfers from the application’s administration in exchange for views.
