Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly on Tuesday met with the CEO of the Egyptian Space Agency (EgSA) Sherif Sedky, to follow up on the agency’s work, with Sedky informing him of the launch of the EgyptSat 2 satellite in October.
Sedky added that the EgyptSat 2 satellite will be launched from China, pointing out that it is working to achieve a number of sustainable development goals.
During the meeting, Sedky reviewed the latest developments in the tests of the EgyptSat 2 satellite – which Egypt received in March – at the Assembly, Integration and Testing Center at the agency’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
These electrical tests, dynamic load simulation tests on the space model of the EgyptSat 2, and the Egyptian component (CFI), electromagnetic harmonic tests, as well as space environment simulation tests.
Sedky noted the great experience gained by Egyptian cadres working in the agency as a result of conducting all these operations in Egypt, in cooperation with Chinese experts.
He also explained of the great benefit achieved by the agency through the project, which earns the Assembly, Integration and Testing Center at the agency the confidence that motivates countries in the region to use this center in assembling and testing similar satellites.
This benefit is represented in the participation of an Egyptian team with the Chinese side in the stages of designing, assembling, testing and launching a MiniSat satellite for remote sensing, he said.
And it is reflected in the success of the Egyptian team in designing and manufacturing a local component for an experimental communications unit, as well as the Egyptian team’s participation in assembling satellite models at the Assembly, Integration and Testing Center.
