A delegation of the Democratic Current Coalition, which includes the Constitution Party, the Karama Party and the People's Alliance Party, met on Thursday with Refaat Komsan, the prime minister's elections advisor, to present their proposals for the electoral constituencies law.

The meeting was attended by George Isaac, member of the National Council for Human Rights, political thinker Samir Eleish, Gamal Ghitas, journalist and political researcher, and Maha Abdel Nasser, leading figure of the Egyptian Democratic Party, while the heads of the coalition did not attend as they delegated Isaac to represent them at the meeting, which lasted an hour.

Isaac said that Komsan told them the law would be issued within a month at the most and that the draft would first be offered for a societal dialogue for three weeks for the political parties and forces to agree upon so that it is issued with consensus.

The delegation also demanded to place cameras in the electoral committees for all voters to follow the counting processes, which Komsan agreed to.

Maha Abdel Nasser said the delegation objected to an absolute candidacy list system because it does not fairly represent the community in parliament like the proportional list system.
