Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat asserted the ministry’s keenness on proceeding with efforts exerted within the framework of an urgent plan to improve electricity services and support development plans in various governorates, especially the New Valley.
He highlighted efforts to provide needed electricity for strategic projects and implement the governorate’s plan for sustainable development.
This is meant to guarantee the optimal use of resources and provide needed potentials to achieve maximum economic revenues in addition to encouraging investment in the governorate, he expounded.
He pointed out to the energy strategy and work plan for transition to renewable energy.
This came during Esmat’s meeting with New Valley Governor Mohamed al-Zamallout to discuss the latest developments in implementing projects of renewable energy and expanding the use of solar plants to secure needed electricity for various purposes in the governorate, especially the developmental and agricultural manufacturing projects.
The two sides also reviewed means of promoting the electricity grid with an aim to improve the services presented and meet the needs of citizens.
In a statement on Thursday, the Electricity Ministry said that the meeting tackled the implementation of several projects to support the power grid and provide needed electricity for some new reclamation areas in the governorate in addition to the measures taken to limit technical and commercial loss.
Meanwhile, Zamallout lauded the ministry’s non-stop efforts to support development and expansion plans in the governorate.
He pointed out to the governorate’s keenness to promote partnership with the private sector to make use of its natural resources, particularly establishing new solar plants.
