Egypt will see more extreme weather next winter that could include snowfall, the head of the country’s meteorology service said Monday.
Ahmed Abdelaal, head of the Egyptian Meteorological Authority, told satellite channel Al-Hayat late Monday that world climate change will continue to impact Egypt, possibly causing “see violent cold snaps, amounting to snowfall”.
While Abdelaal predicted high temperatures, which have claimed the lives of 99 so far, to fall gradually starting Tuesday, he said citizens will continue to sense the heat due to persistent humidity.
