Environment Ministry debunks video of strange sounds in Marsa Matrouh

The head of the Nature Conservation Sector at the Ministry of Environment, Mohammed Salim, debunked a video recording of what was claimed to be whales near the beaches of Marsa Matrouh, during an interview with the “Al-Hayat Al-Youm” TV program on Saturday.

He quoted a eyewitness in Marsa Matrouh, who said they did not hear any of the frightening sounds featured in circulated social media videos of beaches in Marsa Matrouh, which was attributed to come from whales.

Salim said that “The voices of whales are low, not high as heard in the videos,” and added that the sounds were “fabricated and groundless.”
