The Foreign Minister emphasized stressed that Egypt is prepared to resort to the judiciary and follow international legal mechanisms to protect its water rights, and will not hesitate to defend them.

Abdelatty noted that cooperation in accordance with international law is the only way to achieve mutual benefit for all Nile Basin countries.

In his speech, the Foreign Minister also called for increasing the representation of developing countries in the global financial decision-making process and addressing the debt crisis that threatens international economic stability.
