Firefighters have brought a fire under control at a spinning and weaving factory in Fouh city, Kafr al-Sheikh, according to Mohamed Abu Ghanima, the mayor of Fouh.
Factory shareholder Tareq Maghraby suffered from smoke inhallation and was transferred to hospital, according to Abu Ghanima.
The initial estimated losses stand at LE300,000, he said. Abu Ghanima added that one wall of the factory was demolised in order for the fire trucks to reach the blaze.
Eight fire trucks and ten ambulances reponded to the blaze. Firefighters remained near the scene for several hours in case the fire reignited, said Abu Ghanima.
