FJP apologizes for publishing ‘mistaken photos’ about Parliament standoff

The Freedom and Justice Party's Facebook page in Kafr al-Sheikh Governorate has apologized for publishing photos which purported to show thugs attacking Muslim Brotherhood members in front of Parliament on Tuesday.

The incident has stirred anger, since some activists say that the photos are actually of thugs attacking protesters several months ago.

At least seven marches headed to the Parliament building on Tuesday to demand the handover of power to civilians, but Brotherhood members formed a human chain in order to prevent protesters from reaching the People’s Assembly.

The FJP apologized for the photos on its Facebook page and said it was “a mistake by the correspondent who sent the photos and claimed they were taken during Tuesday’s events.”
